Once again, Lise-Hélène Larin surprises us. Jauntily turning her back on her past demarche, from both her sculptural installations and large luminous works conceived and realized by computer, she has ventured into a series of drawings with jubilant compositions and colors.
At once abstract and figurative, geometric and disheveled, these drawings exude an immediate charm, intriguing us at first glance.
And if the works of her former demarche created atmosphere using interpenetration and overlapping of luminous layers, those of the current series reintroduce the narrative. They may not tell a story as such, but each work suggests a dynamic, an exchange between various elements. And they raise a question.
What are they about? What is happening?
