To create my world of color and form, I use colored pencils and watercolor pencils, as well as collage, especially for the first generation of drawings.
The first generation of drawings gave rise to solos, creatures reminiscent of animals, humans, and even robots, on an intimate scale (18x24, 16x20, and 11x15 inches). These solos allowed me to see how observing complex visual arrangements created by crumpling paper stimulated my abstract approach to drawing from observation.
My second generation of drawings, the couples, emerged by exploiting the negative space of the small-scale solos. They are standing duos that will impose themselves through their scale, especially in my new generation of drawings at Erga. I also created an installation by separating them using the computer. I wanted them to interact with people on a human scale.
The small sculptures contribute to the development of the species in both exhibitions. In the first, they are modes of transportation, prototypes of flying machines that I created with polymer clay and rusty metal parts. In the second exhibition, my experiments with AI gave birth to my Brainy Brood, an intelligent offspring that now needs to be reinvented on several other levels.
In short, I hope to represent a non-discriminatory imaginary world by playing with different types of relationships calling into question a social issue about diversity and inclusion.
